Confusion Hits Peace Council As NDC Refuses To Calm Their Supporters And Commit To Peace

The National Peace Council has been thrown into a state of confusion after all attempts to get the NDC to calm down their supporters and commit to peace failed.

Rev. Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, the Chairman of the NPC told the Daily Graphic in an interview that “It is a complex issue now; when people experience shock, pain, and loss, they react differently. Sometimes there is the need to allow tension to go down before you can re-engage and so what we are doing now is to determine the best approach to the whole issue going forward.”

The NDC has raised concerns about the results of the 2020 Presidential elections as declared by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.

According to the Party, they have issues with some of the results from the Ashanti Region in particular where they claim ballots were padded in favor of the ruling Party.

Following their loss, NDC supporters have gone on rampage in parts of the country, with some engaging in acts of violence to register their displeasure.

However, neither the Party’s flagbearer nor the leadership have called on the supporters to exercise calm and restraint.

Reverend Adu Gyamfi appealed to former President John Dramani Mahama to appeal to his supporters for calm while they take steps to address the NDC’s grievances.
