Complete Abandoned Hospitals And Stop Wasting Taxpayers Money – Mahama To Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo and his administration must stop wasting taxpayers’ money by abandoning hospitals established by previous administrations, former President John Mahama said.

“One of the heartbreaking developments for me as a politician has been the number of health facilities that have been opened by previous governments and then abandoned,” Mr Mahama said at the inauguration of a maternity and children’s ward he built with his wife on their 30th birthday . “I take this opportunity to encourage the administration and the President to stop this waste of taxpayers’ money and take urgent steps to complete these hospitals.”

The 9,000-square-foot ward has 10 cots, 5 height-sensing scales, a kangaroo mother and child care center, a delivery room with two delivery beds, and a recovery ward. According to Mr. Mahama, the newly inaugurated wards also include “a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 3 incubators, 5 phototherapy units and a baby scale… we also have an operating room with 2 operating beds, operating light and stool. We have also provided rooms for sterilization, examination” and “doctor’s office, nurses’ workstations and a laundry room”.

In her speech, former First Lady and President of the Lordina Foundation, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, said “today is one of the happiest days of my life”.
