It Would Be “Foolish” For Ghanaians To Elect Any Cabinet Member Of Akufo-Addo’s Government Into Leadership – Analyst

Financial Analyst Nii Yarboi Annan says no member of the cabinet of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration should be given a future role in leadership.

Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia who is said to be the main driver behind the country’s economic agenda, Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kyeremanten and the Minister for Food and Agriculture are said to be campaigning to be the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party for the 2024 elections.

Nii Yarboi Annan however believes that it would be unwise for Ghanaians to vote any of the persons in question into leadership.

He wondered what the three gentlemen intended to do once elected into office judging from the fact that they are key members of the cabinet that has badly failed Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation on Radio Gold, Nii Yarboi Annan is concerned all members of the administration remain at post despite the worsening economic situation.

He said the state of affairs spoke to the lack of principle in the Nana Akufo-Addo administration as none of the ministers is “man” enough to admit failure and honourably resign.

Inflation has risen to 31.7%, it costs GH¢10 to get $1 while prices of goods and services have gone haywire in an economic meltdown that continues to worsen.

Ghana’s debt has also become a major cause for concern with S&P and Fitch downgrading Ghana’s economic outlook.
