Change Prof. Naana If You Want To Stay In Power For More Than One Term – Ben Ephson Advises NDC

Editor of the Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson has cautioned the NDC to rethink Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as their running mate if they intend to stay in power for more than one term.

The pollster admitted that former President John Dramani Mahama is the likeliest candidate to emerge victorious in the flagbearership race since he is tried and tested.

According to him, NDC’s main challenge is to select a formidable running mate to boost the Party’s chances of reclaiming power and consolidating their hold on power.

Speaking on the current running mate, Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang, he told Samuel Eshun on e.TV Ghana’s ‘Fact Sheet’ show: “Yes Prof. had an impact in the last election. But the party will have to assess Prof. Naana because I think she will be 73 in 2028. I don’t think Ghanaians will ever vote again for a President who is past 70. The NDC should be able to do an analysis and see the impact of the potential placements and weigh them and see”.

He added that even though the NDC might have chosen Prof. Naana because she hails from the Central Region, there is no guarantee that picking a running mate from the Central Region will earn a party more votes from that region.
