Chairman Wontumi Reacts To Mahama’s ‘Tofiakwa’ Comment: It Is Clear NPP Will Get More Parliamentary Seats

The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has reacted to a blunder committed by former President John Mahama which has been captured on a viral video.

Former President Mahama in an address to some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), mistakenly referred to his party’s parliamentary hopefuls as members of the ruling NPP.

“On May 13th there will be two ballot boxes here, the 1st will be the parliamentary, the 2nd will be the presidential”, Mr. Mahama is heard saying in the video.

Instead of describing the parliamentary aspirants as members of the NDC, The 2020 flagbearer of the NDC said: “I’m told there are four aspirants including the Member of Parliament himself so we have five. All of them are NPP”.

The blunder has led to Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi stating that it is testament that Mr. Mahama sees the NPP winning more parliamentary seats in 2024.

“John knows that he would lose the presidential and he also knows that the NPP would gain more seats in parliament so he was speaking from the research findings his team has shown to him. He can say ‘tofiakwa’ but the message is clear- NPP will win both the presidential and parliamentary elections”, Chairman Wontumi said.

You can run but you can’t hide. You say the NPP is scared of you but it is now obvious that you are the one constantly keeping the NPP on your mind. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. pic.twitter.com/bRgqa1XzVY
