Phillip Addison became famous in 2012 following the controversial election petition case between President Nana Akufo- Addo and former President Mahama when the current president was just a presidential candidate for the NPP. Mr Addison who was popularly known as Lawyer Addison played the role of Lead counsel for the NPP.
Mr Addison was a key lawyer for the New Patriotic Party in the infamous court proceedings in the NDC election rigging Saga which others claimed was a giant leap towards our democracy.
Until then, not much was known about the ‘unsmiling’ lawyer by voters until Mr Addison decided to get into open politics which won him the NPP primaries in 2016 but unfortunately lost to Hon. Zanetor in the hot 2016 Klottey Korle Klottey parliamentary elections.
The story today for some reasons is different as he had been disqualified to contest in the upcoming primaries by the NPP which is to be held in the 29th of June.
However, Mr Addison believes his disqualification was something planned beforehand and as such, has pleaded with the national leadership of the NPP to investigate further reasons behind his disqualification.
Mr Addison opined that he had done so much for the NPP party from being a party lawyer to maintaining relationships in the constituency to make him eligible to stand for the NPP primaries.
