Bawumia’s Campaign Bus Breaks Down Due To Terrible Roads At Manso Nkwanta

Reports picked up by Ghanafeed suggests that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his campaign team encountered an unexpected situation during their journey to Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region, which left them without means of transportation.

While on his flagbearer campaign in the Ashanti Region, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was en route to meet with delegates of the New Patriotic Party in the Manso Nkwanta Constituency. However, their journey was impeded due to the poor condition of the road leading to the constituency, resulting in a setback for the vice president and his campaign team.

A video circulated by Kumasi-based Otec FM captured the incident, revealing a bus carrying the vice president, members of his campaign team, parliamentarians, ministers, and other government officials. The bus was seen stranded in the middle of the road, with its engine open as individuals conducted checks and inspections.

Following the submission of his nomination forms for the NPP Primaries as flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia wasted no time and immediately commenced his campaign tour to engage with NPP stakeholders in the Greater Accra Region. Notably, a departure from the usual fleet of cars associated with such campaign tours, Dr. Bawumia and his team opted to campaign on board a bus.

While it is not uncommon for Dr. Bawumia to arrive at events in a bus, embarking on a campaign trail with his entourage using this mode of transportation has generated significant attention. The Bawumia bus has been utilized during his tours in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions in recent days.

In the context of the government’s announcement of austerity measures to mitigate the impact of the global economic crisis, Dr. Bawumia’s public display of modesty by reducing the number of cars in his convoy has been widely praised as leading by example.

However, critics argue that the vice president’s use of a bus for campaigning is a populist tactic.
