Bawumia And Mahama Have Stolen My Manifesto – Osofo Kyiri Abosom Alleges

Reverend Dr. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyereabosom, the presidential candidate for the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has alleged that key campaign promises by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were lifted from his own manifesto.

Speaking in an interview on Onua FM, the GUM flagbearer claimed that the 24-hour economy policy championed by Mahama and the old-age benefit proposal by Bawumia were originally ideas from his 2020 campaign manifesto. According to Osofo Kyereabosom, his party had pledged to provide monthly allowances to senior citizens if elected, a policy that he argues Bawumia recently echoed as part of his campaign. He also stated that Mahama’s promotion of a 24-hour economy was another concept GUM introduced in 2020.

In his critique, Osofo Kyereabosom questioned Dr. Bawumia’s credibility, especially given Bawumia’s promise to remove certain taxes that were implemented during his tenure as Vice President. He argued that Bawumia’s inconsistency makes him unfit for the presidency.

Although Osofo Kyereabosom has not yet officially launched his 2024 manifesto, he expressed confidence that his campaign will still resonate with voters despite the alleged plagiarism. He believes his distinct message will propel him to victory in the upcoming election.
