Ashanti Region Npp Honors Director General Of NADMO

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako Sekyere popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, this afternoon, has honoured Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, Director-General of NADMO at a thanksgiving get together organized for all constitueny executives in the Ashanti Region at the Rattray Park in Kumasi.

He further commended the Director-General for winning the recent NALAG Presidential position and urged the new NALAG President to bring his experience to the newly occupied office in order to redeem the image of the association.

Hon Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh is a native of Tepa and Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

He, as an additional responsibility, serves on the Ministerial Advisory Boards of the Ministry of Works and Housing and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang has previously held offices such as an Assembly member , Presiding Member and District Chief Executive of the Ahafo Ano North District Assembly between 2001 to 2009, a period within which he also severed as a two term elected Chairman for the Ashanti Regional Branch of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).

He also served for 4 years as a member of the national governing council of NALAG. Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh also served as a member of Commonwealth local government forum.
It is worthy to note that under the first term of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he was appointed to serve as a government appointee for the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and later the Tema West Municipal Assembly.

He has held previous roles as Head of Advance for the winning campaign of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2016. He also was instrumental as a member of the manifesto sub committee on local government in that year.

Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh is member of International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO). He is noted for introducing reforms and administrative changes at NADMO , leading to a productive manpower.

On the global front ,he has championed International Emergency Response Support.
NADMO, in its bid to show solidarity for our neighboring countries as indicated in international protocols, the Organization has supported its neighbors who have suffered the ravages of disasters. NADMO, and for that matter, Ghana, supported Sierra Leone when it suffered an agonizing mudslide disaster in August, 2017.

Hon. Eric Agyemang-Prempeh is noted for introducing Operation Thunderbolt as a response to the perennial flooding in the northern part of the country exacerbated by the spillage of the Bagre Dam . Under his leadership, NADMO has been interested in building a Space Based DRR Infrastructure.

His tenure has seen a promotion of Financial Discipline in the organization with measures put in place for the strict adherence to the public financial management regulation act.
His strategic commitment to retooling and providing logistical Support for the organization is unpredictable. The organization has provided motorbikes for all 16 Regional offices as well as all 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District offices across the country. The Oganization has also provided pickups for all 16 regions and 60 Districts and Headquarters with rescue ambulances.
