Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams Says His Son Suffers Bi-polar Following Social Media Outburst

Published

on

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has in a statement said his son, Daniel Duncan-Williams suffers from bi-polar and has asked Ghanaians to remember him in prayers.

The statement released by the spokesperson for the family, Bishop Ebenezer Obodai, stated that Daniel has been battling with acute bipolar disease for the past six years.

The statement comes after Daniel Duncan-Williams released several obscene viral videos on various social media platforms and throwing tantrums online against his father.

Read below the full statement:

Mental Health: Toll, Tragedies and Hope

The significance of psychological health has become very personal to Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams and his family. Six years ago, Archbishop’s son, Daniel Duncan-Williams, was diagnosed with acute bipolar disease. Through the family, Daniel has undergone the very best medical interventions, treatments and hospitalizations, yet he still experiences relapses when he does not continue on his prescribed medication.

His outbursts on social media and elsewhere should not be media fodder or click-bait; We acknowledge that the obscenities are abhorrent but understand that he has a serious illness. Daniel is not of himself and he has never been in prison.

Historically, many mega pastors have all had to deal with their personal family challenges in the public eye and in this same vein, we also ask you to separate “who a person is from their mistakes”. We love Daniel, and we believe God’s mercy turns what was meant for evil to good, for them that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Daniel also continues to be covered and supported spiritually with intense and consistent prayers.

The Archbishop has prayed all over the world for nations, leaders, pastors, families, mothers and lay people and at this time, he asks that you join in prayer for Danny and the family. We are believing, with God on our side, that Daniel will come out of this stronger and with a testimony to the glory of God.

The Archbishop says “this is a test of his faith. In his own words; “I acknowledge the situation my son is in, and I still love him…please pray for us…. “Love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

The Archbishop and his family continue to stand firm in their faith believing God for Daniel’s full deliverance, healing and restoration. We ask that you please respect their privacy as they navigate through this trying time.

Psalms 3:3. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Bishop Ebenezer Obodai

Spokesperson for Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams and family

I Stopped Counsellor Lutterodt From Appearing On My Show Four Years Ago – Gifty Anti

Published

on

Host of The Standpoint, Gifty Anti has disclosed that, she personally stopped Counsellor George Lutterrodt from appearing on her show four years ago.

According to the multiple award-winning TV personality she came under critique for endorsing the behaviour of the counsellor.

“I have received a few accusations and bashing from some people with regards to George Lutterodt.

“I personally stopped him from coming on my show and studio four years ago.

“Yes, he’s been on The Standpoint before. On two occasions. November 2013 and February 2016.

“His last appearance was on 19th February 2016.

“I find it interesting and quite unfortunate that I am being accused of endorsing his behaviour because he’s been on The Standpoint before, irrespective of what he talked about on the show.

“But then again, if in the programme’s 12 years of existence if our ‘biggest crime’ committed, was letting him come on the show 4 years ago…I Totally apologise…

“And I keep using ‘I’ because I take full responsibility as the executive producer and host.”

The controversial counsellor has been heavily criticised by Ghanaians forclaiming that victims of rape always enjoy the act at a point.

This has roped in celebrities and media personalities including Ama K. Abebrese championing a campaign to axe out Counsellor George Lutterodt from all television shows.

Castro And Janet Bandu To Be Declared Dead Next Year If They Are Not Found

Published

on

On 6 July 2014, Castro and Miss Janet Bandu were reported to have drowned following a jet ski accident in Ada Estuary while on holiday with the Gyan brothers. The jet ski involved in the accident was recovered on the same day of their disappearance but the pair remain missing till date.

Recounting events surrounding Castro’s disappearance, Gyan said: That was the first time they went to Aqua Safari and that in the previous years, they went to Akosombo. That particular year, the yacht at Akosombo was broken down so they decided to go to Ada.

“A day before we went to Ada, he [Castro] came to my house and said he was on his way to Kumasi and would not join us. But whilst we were on our way to Ada, on the Accra-Tema motorway, we received a phone call that “Under” [Castro] wants us to wait for him. We parked at a fuel station where a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of me. I later got the inclination it was destined to happen because he was initially not part of the trip. When we got to Ada, everything went fine. We were to spend three days, but ended up using the Jet Ski on the second day”

By the Laws of Ghana, Castro and Miss Janet Bandu can only be declared legally dead by a court after seven years. According to The Evidence Act of 1975, Section 33, a person can only be declared legally dead after seven years by a court, where the person in question has not been seen or heard from in seven years despite diligent and persistent efforts to find him.

In Castro and Janet’s case, the seven year period elapses next year in 2021. This means that the musician could be legally declared dead if his whereabouts are not known within the stipulated period.
