Annual Ritual: Early Morning Rains Flood Parts of Accra Leaving Residents Displaced and Properties Destroyed

Parts of Accra have flooded following an early morning down pour, forcing some affected persons to seek refuge at odd places such as under the Achimota overpass.

The rains which lasted for hours left several people around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange and adjoining communities also displaced.

Reports indicate that Odaw, Avenor, Dansoman, Achimota and others have been affected.

Floods have become an annual ritual in Accra–particularly around June and July.
