Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has maintained his innocence amid the barrage of allegations levelled against him by controversial musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah came under severe backlash on saturday after he had incurred the wrath of the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu and the entire NDC Caucus on the floor of parliament the previous day with his ‘papa no’ statement.

The honourable minister’s woes were aggravated when musician A-Plus accused him of sleeping with a presidential advisor’s wife, among other embarrassing allegations.

However, speaking on Peace Fm’s Morning show with Kwame Sefa Kayi, the young MP explained that his ‘papa no’ comment was just meant to be a joke and was not intended to harm anybody. According to him, he asked that the statement be expunged from the records of the house immediately he noticed the minority had taken offense.

Responding to the barrage of allegations and insults, the Minister insisted that he was innocent and was fully aware that since this is an election year, people will use all kinds of tactics to smear and attack innocent people, but he will not be distracted.

He insisted that his focus remains solely on the work he is doing and will not bother with the calculated attempts to tarnish his image.
