Deputy Energy Minister, Mr. Mohammed Amin Adam has called on Ghanaians to support the e-transactions levy.

According to him, Ghanaians should be rest assured because President Akufo-Addo is not in government to acquire wealth.

Speaking at a gathering, Mr. Amin Adam encouraged his audience to press on their lawmakers to support the e-levy in order to bring the much needed development to the Country.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo is already wealthy and has no plans to squander Ghanaians’ money.

The e-levy is a new tax proposed by government which will see a 1.75% tax on electronic transactions.

The levy has been met with brutal opposition from the minority in parliament who claim that the proposed tax is a nuisance.

On the contrary, government claims the proposed tax will boost government revenue and bring about the much needed development.
