Ms. Hawa Koomson, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Awutu Senya East has been invited by the police to help investigate an incident which led to the firing of gunshots by the lawmaker in public place at Kasoa.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Oppong of the Central Region Police Command confirmed the news.
Ms. Hawa Koomson who is also the Minister for Special Development Initiative on Monday fired what she claimed was warning shots at a polling station in Kasoa.
This was followed by a lot of condemnation on the media especially from the opposition National Democratic Congress party with many calling for the resignation of the Minister though she claimed she fired the gunshots for self- defense.
However, four other people have been arrested in connection to the incident namely Sulley Razak, Majeed Amadu, Suleman Yusuf and Razak Musa.
The four have been charged with conspiracy to commit crime, discharge of firearms and unlawful damage to three motorbikes.
Though all the four accused persons pleaded not guilty, their case has been adjourned to August 18, 2020 for further hearing.
