I will Not Spend Money To Solve Flooding If You Don’t Change Your Mindset – Akufo-Addo To Ghanaians

Following the devastating effect of the recent floods in Accra which adds to the perennial history of having the city submerged whenever there’s a sustained heavy downpour, a throwback video of President Akufo Addo on how to deal with the menace has surfaced.

During a heavy downpour within a spate of four days which began on Saturday, the same old story of destruction caused to lives and properties has been recorded once again.

In a throwback video, the president of Ghana- Nana Akufo Addo revealed that until Ghanaians change their attitude which include throwing rubbish into gutters which vastly contributes to the annual disaster, he won’t use the country’s resources to solve it.

He’s heard in the video saying;

“We want this, we want that but the attitudinal change that will enable us to bring value to these demands that is always left out. Up till today, whiles the Odor river is being dredged, there are still people at home when the rains come think that the easiest way to deal with dirt in the house is to throw it out into the gutter.

Those things have to come to a stop. We all have to speak to each other to bring those things to a stop because if we don’t, no matter the investment that we make at the end of the day we will be back to square one and I’m not prepared to spend your money in that way again”.

I am not prepared to spend money to fix the drains if you don’t stop throwing Garbage into the Gutters..
