Presidential candidate on ticket of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo has pledged to pay a monthly allowance of GHS300 and GHS200 to twins and every Ghanaian child respectively till they attain the age of 18.
According to him, the lack of child welfare support in the country exposed children to harmful behaviors and therefore the state must prioritize children needs.
Mr Akpaloo said this forms part of his social intervention policy dubbed ‘Child Benefit’, to meet the needs of children in the country.
He told Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow radio that an LPG government will protect the rights of children, create opportunities for the less privileged and transform small scale businesses.
According to him, his government will implement a social intervention policy dubbed: ‘Unemployment Benefits Scheme’ to pay a minimum of GH¢300.00 monthly allowance to unemployed graduates if given the nod in the December polls.
