An angry pastor has vented his anger on the New Patriotic Party and government, calling on the president to release some pastors who were jailed for breaching some preventive measures imposed by the President during the lockdown.
Prophet Alex Amstrong, founder of the Potters’ Family Chapel said, if the NPP could not adhere to the safety and preventive measures in combating the covid19 during its parliamentary elections without being arrested, then pastors jailed by the same government should be released with immediate effect.
Speaking to a group of congregants, pastor Alex had this to say,
“Some pastors have been disgraced and insulted because we all stood and prayed for you before you became president. I prayed everywhere I went and prayed for you because God spoke to me that you will become president, you didn’t pay me and I don’t need anything from him or any MP,”.
As part of easing the restrictions on the social gathering, the government outlined some protocols which various churches in the country are to follow. Congregants should not be more than 100 in a place of worship be it a mosque, church, or any other place of worship.
Leaders of the various churches are to ensure that members adhere to these safety precautionary measures especially the wearing of masks, regular hand washing and social distancing.
Pastor Alex feels the government is not being fair with pastors as he has allowed other people from the NPP to go unpunished for breaking the same laws which some pastors have been jailed for breaking.
This was what he had to say, “Look at what happened yesterday, it is sad…how they were hugging, dancing, jumping and running [around]. That one nobody has arrested them,”
He further went on to threaten that jailed pastors should be “released immediately other than that it will be a curse on all the politicians…other than that, judgement will come from above.”
