The minority in parliament have dragged the government to the Supreme Court over the government’s decision to pay salaries to first and second ladies.
The minority’s action, they say is to seek clarification from the apex court on the constitutionality of government’s decision.
Minority MP, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor believes government’s decision to pay salaries and emoluments to spouses of the President and Vice president is illegal.
There were reports that President Akufo-Addo had unilaterally decided to pay salaries to his wife, however, Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has clarified that the approval was granted by the previous parliament.
