President Akufo- Addo in a meeting with the Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools – CHASS disclosed that 2.4 million nose masks would be distributed to final year students of the various senior high schools in the country.
This is part of the precautionary and preventive measures to help fight against the Covid19 virus whilst school reopens for these students.
The president, disclosed that, it was incumbent on his administration to see to it that these students were secured and safe from the pandemic.
The head of CHASS, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar responded by thanking the president and went further to explain that from the regional level, they also had meetings with the schools level where they met with the teaching and non-teaching staff so they would all abide by the measures government had put in place so they should all come on board so school opens and opens effectively. He further said, their teachers have had their departmental meetings, house masters have also met all in the preparation of school reopening.
He further assured the president that fumigation had already taken place in the schools and as he spoke disinfection was in the process and that in the Ashanti Region where he came from, over 80% of the schools have been disinfected.
