The Finance Minister is expected to present the 2023 Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Tuesday, 24 November 2022.

This was disclosed by the deputy majority leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

It follows the contention on whether the Finance Minister will be allowed to present the 2023 Budget or not as he faces a vote of censure by parliament.

Who will read the budget?

The minority on Friday enquired who specifically will be reading the 2023 Budget.

Majority Leader, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu in response said the budget is the president’s budget for the ensuing financial year and can be presented by any cabinet minister including the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta come 24 November.

However, the NPP MPs who are seeking Ofori-Atta’s head have warned him not to read the budget following their refusal to join the Minority pass a vote of censure against him.
