Your CCTVs Won’t Resurrect Dead Bodies; Deploy The Police To Towns To Prevent Crimes – Akufo-Addo Told

Executive Secretary of the Bureau of Public Safety, Nana Yaw Akwada has noted that government’s installation of CCTV camera’s across major cities in the country is a good initiative, however, cannot prevent crime from happening let alone resurrect persons who may die from those crimes.

Speaking on 3FM’s Community Connect programme, he urged the Akufo-Addo led government to consider the Police visibility programme because that is the only thing that can prevent crime.

According to him, the deployment and presence of the police in the communities scare criminals from operating.

“In Tema, I saw about two camera stations which are springing up, this is a very good initiative. But where are the street lights? Where is the Police visibility programme? They are not there. The cameras do not arrest people, the cameras cannot resurrect people. They will only lead us or give us clues as to who did what. But ultimately our aim is to prevent the crime from happening in the first place,” he said.
