You Wont Pay A ‘Pesewa’ for Primary Health Care Under Mahama – NDC To Ghanaians

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that Ghanaians will not be charged any money to access primary healthcare under the next John Dramani Mahama administration.

Addressing the press on Thursday, former Communications Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah noted that primary healthcare, irrespective of your status in society, will remain free for all.

He noted that government will liaison with health facilities and pharmacies in the various districts so that Ghanaians can receive healthcare in a nearby pharmacy without necessarily overcrowding hospitals.

He explained that health services like Blood Pressure, sugar levels and the likes can be checked at nearby pharmacies for free without going to any hospital.

“With Free Primary Health Care, nobody – we mean no Ghanaian – will pay a ‘pesewa’ at any primary health care facility when he or she is attended to,” Omane Boamah said.
