Fellowers and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have for the past days been hitting the streets in protest of the 2020 presidential and some parliamentary election results.
Though tagged to be peaceful, there have been some instances of violence as the fans air their anger over an alleged flawed elections.
However according to ace journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, these demonstrations won’t yield any results for the NDC even if it continues for the next ten years.
“Let them demonstrate for the next 10 years. They should go on hunger strike . . . They can do anything they want. The only way they can get this verdict, that’s the Presidential one and now the Parliamentary one is to go to the appropriate forum”, he said on the Wednesday edition of Peace FM’s flagship Kokrokoo Show.
“Nobody is saying they cannot demonstrate. At times, some people ask is that not a democratic right? It is. What we’re saying is that if you seek to cure the mischief, the perceived mischief of election dispute, there’s only one area. The rest you can shout; you can make noise. You can strip naked and run through the streets,” Mr. Baako added.
