Security analyst, Adib Saani has admonished government for thinking it wise to provide Members of Parliament with personal police men to enhance their security instead of the larger society.
According to him, a policeman sitting in the vehicle of an MP does not guarantee absolute protection; rather the country need to take a critical look at the larger picture and bolster our security because the criminals remain a threat to everyone in the society.
To him, the decision to prove MPs with security means Ghanaians have been left to their fate which in his view, is not the way to go.
Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery disclosed to the Parliamentary Press Corps that government will be providing MPs with personal security with 200 Police already deployed while they consider to deploy more to their homes to guard day and night.
