You Can Go To Jail For Having “Doggy Style” – Lydia Forson Explains New Ghana Law

Actress Lydia Forson has cautioned Ghanaians to be careful because according to a new law which is currently before parliament, you could end up in jail for having “doggy”.

Popular sentiments about LGBTQI have crept back into public discourse following the laying of a bill in parliament which seeks to criminalize LGBTQI as a practice, and even criminalizes its advocacy.

The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021 will see culprits face a jail term of up to ten years depending on the crime, if passed in its current state.

Individuals of the same sex who engage in sexual intercourse are “liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than seven hundred and fifty penalty units and not more than five thousand penalty units, or to a term of imprisonment of not less than three years and not more than five years or both.”

However, Lydia Forson who has been a staunch advocate of LGBTQI rights has taken to Twitter to caution those in support of the new bill to exercise caution because the law could actually catch up with them.

According to her own interpretation of the bill, even if you engage in doggy style, you could be going to jail.
