“Wontumi Said Prof. Naana Looks Like A Witch, Nobody Condemned Him, Why Should We Condemn Mahama For ‘Akyem Sakawa’ Comment? – A-Plus Asks Akufo-Addo
Musician and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus has rejected a call by President Akufo-Addo, calling for the clergy and other CSOs to condemn comments shared by NDC flagbearer, John Mahama referring to some elements in the NPP as ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’.
NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has come under a barrage of attacks after he shared a write-up made by Bolga Central MP, Isaac Adongo in which he referred to elements in the NPP as ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’.
Yesterday, at a meeting with the clergy, President Akufo-Addo expressed concerns about the fact that no clergy or CSO has called the NDC flagbearer to order with regards to his “ethnocentric comments”.
However, musician A-Plus believes that the call by the President smacks of double standards, especially when people in his own party have made similar disparaging comments in the past and had not been condemned.
A-Plus cited the incident in which Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi described the running mate of the NDC, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as looking like a witch.
According to A-Plus, despite the seriousness of Wontumi’s utterances, nobody called him to order within his own party.
