Former Head of Monitoring Unit of the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu has gone hard at persons dragging government to court over the payment of emoluments to Presidential spouses.
Speaking on Peace FM, he said going to court is not going to stop the government from paying the first and second ladies.
He wondered if any Ghanaian was going to die or have life if the payments for first and second ladies are cancelled.
”Today, this or that person is going to court saying we won’t accept it…The thing is also that they are being paid already and the fact that you’re going to court doesn’t mean the government will decide today that it won’t have a budget for the First Lady’s office and the office of the Second Lady. Then we should close the office. Then we should propose that it’s not necessary to give an office to the First and Second Ladies any longer”, he was reported by peacefmonline.
Some NDC MPs and the NPP’s Abronye DC have dragged the government to court over the decision to pay the first and second ladies.
