What Will You Do If You Win In A Flawed Election? UG Lecturer Quizzes Mahama

A senior political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon has asked former President John Mahama what he plans to do if he wins in a flawed election.

This comes after the Natonal Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer issued a warning to the Electoral Commission (EC) ahead of this year’s general elections during a speech at the 28th anniversary of the NDC.

According to Mr Mahama, his party will not be in a position to accept the results of an election they considered flawed.

“As a leader of the NDC, I wish to serve notice that we shall do all our parts to ensure that our country remains peaceful and that the electoral process proceeds smoothly, but let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed election,” he cautioned.

Speaking on Peace Fm’s ‘Kokrokoo’ show, senior political science lecturer, Dr Kwame Asah Asante in a panel discussion said, “no matter what there will be a free and fair election, but I want to ask Mahama; what will you do if you win in that flawed election?”.
