What Exactly Is She Bringing To the Table? Sekou Nkrumah Quizzes Mahama Running Mate

Sekou Nkrumah, son of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah has questioned former president John Mahama’s decision to select Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate ahead of the December polls.

In a Facebook post, the son of the first president of Ghana was of the view that having a woman as running mate was good, but what exactly is she bringing on the table?

“A woman running mate is good! My concern is about her contribution to the campaign, what exactly is she bringing to the table?” he wrote.

According to him, should the National Democratic Congress fail to win the elections this year, the competent vice president must be able to “take over leadership mantle”.

Sekou, who has always been critical of Mahama said if Prof Opoku Agyemang is unable to take over the leadership mantle, then there’ll be a “leadership vacuum”.

“If NDC does not win 2020, can the running mate take over the leadership mantle? If not, then there is a problem! It means the party will end up with a leadership vacuum and serious crisis going forward!”

NDC falgbearer, John Mahama yesterday June 6, 2020 announced former education minister Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his running mate for this year’s election.
