The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa has noted that this dawn’s riot by secessionist group, Western Togoland could have been much worse if security forces had not acted swiftly.
According to him, the security authorities picked intelligence on the impending widespread attack in the Volta region and acted swiftly to suppress it.
“What we witnessed this dawn could have been worse. We picked intelligence and made sure their initial plan of widespread attack in the whole Volta region was curtailed.”
“The people who did this do not come from the areas that were attacked . Many of these Guys were transported to the area,” he said on TV3’s New Day programme.
