The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, is cautioning against becoming complacent ahead of the 2024 general elections.
He advised that the 2024 elections haven’t yet been won and for that reason, the NPP must work harder towards the dream of breaking the 8 year political cycle in Ghana.
“No member of the NPP should say that we have won the election. Winning an election goes beyond roads and infrastructure”, he said in a one-on-one interview with Oheneba Asiedu on Wontumi TV.
He recounted an incident in 2020 which taught him political lessons and made him become more analytical.
According to him, “before the 2020 elections, we took electricity to a community that doesn’t have light and I thought we (NPP) were going to win in that area. I later went there and NDC were sharing cutlasses to the people and they were chanting that this is what they wanted and not electricity. When the elections ended, NDC won in the area”.
