We Have Acquired Weapons For 2024 Elections- Tamale South NDC Chairman

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Tamale South, Zaa Nyaya, has made bold statements about the party’s readiness to confront security agencies and the Electoral Commission (EC) during the upcoming December 7 elections. He claimed that the NDC is fully equipped to match the security forces that will be deployed on Election Day.

Speaking at the NDC’s “Enough is Enough” demonstration in Tamale, Nyaya expressed the party’s frustration with the EC’s refusal to conduct a forensic audit of the voters register.

He further warned that the NDC will not allow the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to manipulate the election process, stating, “The weapons they have, I swear we also have the same.”

The demonstration, which saw hundreds of residents joining in protest, was organized to pressure the EC to ensure a free and fair election. Nyaya emphasized that the police would not be able to protect the EC if it does not deliver a credible electoral process.

His comments have raised concerns about potential tensions as the country heads toward the December 7 polls.
