We Don’t Trust Jean Mensah, We’ll Produce Our Own Referee For 2020 Polls – Asiedu Nketia Insists

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has hinted that the NDC will not rely on the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission for credible election results come December 7.

According to him, their referee will be vigilance to ensure that the EC does not rig the election for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

His comments come in the wake of claims by the NDC that the EC is deliberately massaging figures in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise in the Ashanti Region to disadvantage the NDC in favour of the NPP.

The EC’s Ashanti Regional Director, Benjamin Bannor Bio, has also admitted that the Commission detected an anomaly in the figures presented for the first-six days for Sekyere South and Offinso North districts.

“What is happening now (in Ashanti Region) is a replay of what happened in 2008. What type of genuine mistakes can result in shooting figures which are below 8,000 to beyond 27,000? It is no mistake. It’s a plan work.”

“We said already that Jean Mensa came purposely tot rig the election for NPP and so in this election, we have decided to take our referee. Our vigilance will be the referee,” he said on Asempa Fm, Wednesday.
