We Are Ready To Vote For Mahama, But He Must Swear By ‘Antoa Nyama’ That He Won’t Cancel Free SHS – Drivers Tell NDC

A group calling itself Alliance Drivers of Ghana is challenging former President John Mahama to swear by a powerful local deity ‘Antoa Nyama’ that he would not cancel the Free SHS programme when re-elected as President.

The group made the call in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Isiaka; National PRO, Kweku Boateng; and Central Regional PRO, Adu Yeboah.

According to them, they are willing to vote for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama because their expectations have not been met by the Akufo-Addo led NPP, however, they are scared that the NDC might cancel the free SHS policy when they are elected.

They are of the opinion that a cancellation of the Free SHS will be of disastrous consequences to low income earners like themselves who hitherto could not afford to take their wards to school.

They therefore pleaded with the former President to swear by the ‘Antoa’ deity to prove to them that he will not cancel the policy when elected on 7th December.

‘Antoa Nyamaa’ is a popular river god deity with its shrine located at Antoa in the Ashanti Region.
