Vote Buying Will Soon Put Criminals In Leadership Roles – Kofi Akpaloo

Founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Kofi Akpaloo has expressed discontent on the level of vote-buying during party elections, particularly, the just ended New Patriotic Party elections.

According to him, it is quite terrifying to see delegates have their conscience bought with money to vote for candidates who are not truly the reflection of the people they represent.

Speaking on Onua FM’s Yensempa Show, Kofi Akpaloo bemoaned that vote buying has the tendency of jeopardizing Ghana’s democracy.

He was of the view that Ghana’s future doesn’t look bright if the country is unable to have a grasp on this practice since criminals who have the financial power would be elected to rule the country.

“Ghana’s future is bleak if this situation persists and we are definitely going to have criminals managing us because someone could easily pay his or her way out to get the power,” he emphasized.

He called on Ghanaians to give him their votes come December 2020 because he would lead a Ghana devoid of cronyism, irrespective of whether he’s given just a first term or not if the right thing has to be done.
