Volta Region NDC Endorses Okudzeto’s Resignation

The Volta Regional Secretariat of the NDC have endorsed the decision by the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to resign from the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa tendered in his resignation to the Speaker of Parliament, resigning from the Appointments committee of the House.

His resignation came after the consensus approval of finance minister Ken Ofori Atta which has drawn much criticism from the rank and file of the NDC.

In a letter dated March 30, addressed to the Speaker, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, Okudzeto explained that this was “after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations.

However, reacting to the development, the Volta Regional Secretariat of the NDC, via a statement signed by their secretary, James Gunu, welcomed the decision of the MP.

According to them, Mr Okudzeto’s resignation will bring about the needed change in the leadership of the minority caucus.
