A disturbing video circulating online shows supporters of the two main political parties in Ghana, NDC and NPP wielding machetes and sticks and clashing in the presence of the military in Banda.
Banda has been a flashpoint as far as the voters registration exercise is concerned, with the opposition NDC accusing the ruling New Patriotic Party of deliberately preventing some Ewes from registering.
A few days ago, the general secretary of the opposition NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia who was on the grounds in Banda, clashed with some military men who he accused of mounting roadblocks to prevent some Ewes from proceeding to register.
Even though, government has denied the claims of trying to disenfranchise a specific ethnic group from registering to vote, the situation appears to be far from dying down.
A new video emerging shows an angry group of NDC and NPP supporters with sticks and machetes clashing right in the presence of the military.
