A video has emerged of Black Stars Captain, Andre Dede Ayew allegedly engaged in black magic (juju) while on National Team duty.
The practice of juju has been a major concern in the African game for many decades, with the phenomenon said to be a major reason for Africa’s inability to take its place at the summit of world football, despite producing several talents.
In the Black Stars for instance, the practice of juju has been one of the major reasons for the country’s inability to convince some prominent footballers of Ghanaian origin who were born elsewhere to play for the Black Stars.
Former Black Stars Coach, Goran Stevanovic, at a point in his career as Black Stars Coach even attributed the team’s poor performance to an over-reliance on juju.
However, despite these concerns of juju, very little evidence has been adduced to substantiate the claims, until the emergence of a video which appears to suggest that Black Stars Captain, Dede Ayew may be one of those players engaged in the superstitious practice.
In the said video, Dede Ayew can be seen warming up on the pitch, while blowing some powder substance onto the field.
