Video: Angry Residents Chase Out Asante Bekwai MP’s Campaign Team
A group of visibly angry residents have chased out the campaign team of incumbent Asante Bekwai MP, Joe Osei Owusu when the team went on their routine campaign.
Mr Osei Owusu, a deputy speaker of parliament was elected as MP for Asante Bekwai in 2008 after he contested as an independent candidate.
And when Mr Osei-Owusu went to Parliament in 2009, he lent his support to the Minority in Parliament NPP.
In fact, Mr Osei-Owusu was outspoken in Parliament as he spoke forcefully against government policies and transactional agreements.
When Mr Osei-Owusu took another critical decision to contest the NPP primary for the 2012 election in the same constituency, the people stood by him to win to continue to represent them in Parliament.
This time, however, Mr Osei Owusu faces competition from another contender, who is also contesting independent after losing out on a chance to contest in the Party Primaries.
In a video making rounds on social media today, the campaign team of Mr Osei Owusu is seen been chased out by constituents who are obviously fed up with their MP and possibly want him out of parliament.
