Use Real Madrid Against Liverpool As Example Before Seeking For World Cup Revenge – Luis Suárez Warns Ghanaians

Uruguay striker, Luis Suárez says before they talk about revenge in the next 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Ghanaians should look at Real Madrid’s match against Liverpool and use it as point of example.

Football, he claims, is not a combat zone and is a game that is played on bitch rather than bragging or establishing a name for oneself.

Due to a Luis Suarez handball incident in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Ghana was denied a semifinal berth.

In the final minute of extra time at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, the former Liverpool and Barcelona forward saves a goal-bound header from Ghana’s Dominic Adiyiah.

Suarez effectively made a goalkeeper-worthy save on the line, and he received a straight red card as a result.

Ghana was also given a penalty, but Asamoah Gyan’s attempt from 12 yards hit the crossbar, causing Suarez to go insane on the touchline and forcing the game into a shootout.

Uruguay advanced to the semifinals after winning the penalty shootout, with Luis Suarez being hailed for his heinous conduct.

He remarked after the game about the infamous handball incident:

“The Hand of God now belongs to me,” Suarez said at the time, according to the Guardian. “I am the true Hand of God.”

“I made the tournament’s finest save.” It was worthwhile because I occasionally play goalkeeper in training. There was no other option for me, and when they missed the penalty, I said to myself, “It’s a miracle, and we’re still alive in the tournament.”
