Ursula Owusu Supplies Yam At Lower Cost To Constituents Ahead Of Christmas

Christmas has come too early for residents of the Ablekuma West as their Parliamentary representative found ways to secure tonnes of tubers of yam for onwards supply to the residents at cheaper cost ahead of the yuletide.

On a normal day and depending on the size, a tuber of yam could cost 20 cedis or more, but thanks to the benevolence of the MP, residents who had 20 Cedis went home with as much as five tubers with those holding as little as five cedis going home a tuber.

According to the Member of Parliament who is also the Minister for Communication, her intervention was to help her constituents celebrate the yuletide with the present economic circumstance not being a barrier.

As at this morning, residents were seen thronging to Mrs Ekuful’s Ablekuma residence to buy the yams with expressing delight and profound gratitude to the lawmaker for the timely intervention.

To enable her carry out the gesture, Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful is believed to have arranged with some farmers in the Northern Region to supply and to deliver the yams to her in Accra.
