United States Congressman Insists Kennedy Agyapong Is Complicit In Ahmed Suale Murder

United States Congressman, Henry Hank Johnson has insisted that MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong is Complicit in the unfortunate murder of Tiger Eye PI investigative journalist, Ahmed Suale.

Mr. Johnson stated his strong suspicion in a statement he released in reaction to claims by Mr. Agyapong that the Congressman had issued him a personal apology for highlighting Mr. Agyapong to congress as a possible mastermind behind the dastardly murder.

The Assin Central MP had claimed in another of his many tirades on his Net 2 TV that Hank Johnson had apologized to him when the US Congressman had travelled down to Ghana in 2019; a claim that he tried to use to exonerate himself from the Suale’s murder case.

After the claim, however, US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kevin Taylor had forwarded a clip of Mr. Agyapong’s claim to the US Congressman through his aide, Richard Andrew Phelan.

“Mr. Agyapong’s assertion that I apologized to him in any way or told him what a great job he was doing is a lie. Not only do I stand by my original letter to the State Department in 2019 about the murder of the heroic journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale who exposed corruption at the highest level of Ghanaian football – and Mr. Agyapong’s possible complicity in that crime – but I thank the good member of Parliament for renewing my interest in the case and look forward in vigorously engaging with the new U.S. Administration to look further into the matter,” the congressman stated.

It will be recalled that in January 2019, Mr Johnson tried to get the US Government to ban Ken Agyapong from entering the United States over his alleged involvement in the murder of Ahmed Suale.

He also asked for Mr. Agyapong to be banned from accessing the U.S. banking system and his businesses, and any other appropriate and applicable sanctions regarding his role that directly or indirectly caused the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

In a letter to Mike Pompeo the US-Secretary of State, Mr. Johnson also asked the US Government to provide FBI support for the Government of Ghana via the Office of the Legal Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Accra to unravel the perpetrators of the dastardly murder.

Additionally, the Republican Congressman asked the US Government to conduct an independent assessment of the murder and the quality and scope of the Ghanaian government’s investigation into the murder of Ahmed.

Ahmed Suale was murdered by two unidentified men on a motorcycle near his family home in Madina, Accra.
