Hawa Koomson has been approved as minister for fisheries and aquaculture with a massive 161 votes after a secret ballot in parliament.

Hawa was part of 3 ministers who were initially rejected by the minority MPs on the appointment committee who said she was not fit to be minister.

After a long session of parliament climaxed with a tense secret ballot, Hawa Koomson was passed with a resounding 161 votes meaning at least 23 NDC MPs voted for her.

This has generated a massive conversation on Twitter with Hawa Koomson trending at number one.
