The image of the National Lottery Authority has seen a massive boost after the Authority promptly paid a Senior Police Officer an amount of GHS 480,000 as winnings.
The NLA had suffered financial crisis in the past, which had cast a negative spot on the Authority’s image prior to last year.
The Authority, under the leadership of Sammy Awuku as Director-General, however, has seen a significant image redemption from settlement of outstanding claims to initiation of life-changing corporate social responsibility initiatives and media visibility.
In a statement released in December 2021, the NLA served notice that it had released over GHS 5 million to it’s partner banks to settle outstanding winning claims.
After the release of the said statement, Patrons of the NLA’s products have testified of prompt payment and it has translated into renewed confidence in the the operations of the authority.
A Deputy Commissioner of the Ghana Police Service, whose name has been witheld for obvious reasons, smiled all the way to the bank when his winnings of GHS 480,000 was promptly paid to him.
