Tiwaah Stood By My Side When My Own Wife Abandoned Me – Yaw Sarpong Breaks His Silence

Renowned gospel musician Yaw Sarpong has broken his silence regarding allegations made by his estranged wife, Maame Adwoa Pinamang, and their children. The claims were aired on Oyerepa Afutuo, a popular program on Oyerepa FM hosted by Auntie Naa.

In a candid interview, Maame Adwoa Pinamang alleged that Yaw Sarpong’s family was obstructing her from attending to her ailing husband. She further claimed that Maame Tiwaah, Sarpong’s backing vocalist, had been allowed by the family to assume responsibilities typically reserved for a wife.

Addressing the allegations publicly for the first time, Yaw Sarpong categorically denied his wife’s claims, labeling them as entirely false. Sarpong clarified that he and his wife have been separated for approximately 20 years. According to Sarpong, the separation occurred when Maame Adwoa Pinamang left their matrimonial home in Accra and moved to her father’s residence in Kumasi.

“After my wife left, I went to her father’s house to express my concerns about her departure. He assured me that he would speak to her, but I never received any follow-up, and she never returned,” Sarpong recounted.

The gospel artist also addressed the role of Maame Tiwaah, clarifying that she is not his wife. “Tiwaah has been a steadfast support during my illness and throughout our professional journey. Her assistance has been invaluable, but it does not extend to the roles and responsibilities of a spouse,” Sarpong explained.

This public declaration by Yaw Sarpong aims to set the record straight and dispel the misconceptions surrounding his personal and professional life. The musician’s remarks underscore the longstanding separation from his wife and highlight the supportive, yet professional, nature of his relationship with Maame Tiwaah.

As this family drama unfolds in the public eye, it remains to be seen how the parties involved will navigate the complexities of their relationships.
