Individuals believed to be thugs have vandalised the office of Alfred Obeng Boateng, the MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western North Region.
The attackers, who stormed the MP’s office on Monday, reportedly made away with items such as mobile phones, cash and laptops.
A special aide to the legislator, Kwame Bekoe, who was present in the office, was also stabbed in the process, eyewitnesses told Asaase News.
Speaking with a reporter for Asaase News, an eyewitness who works with the MP said: “I was in the office with my boss and some guests when I left to buy medicine at our store. The store is opposite the office.
“All of a sudden, I saw four people rushing to our office. So, I also rushed to the office.
“Upon reaching there, I saw they had smashed the glasses, with my boss sustaining a cut …”
She added: “As for my boss, he is hurt. I know two of them, but the other two, I don’t know them. They are NPP members and I am sure [about that] because, during the vetting of the polling station executives, I saw them around the place.”
The case has been reported to the police.
