There’s A Destructive Demon In Mahama That Must Be Exorcised – Wontumi

Chairman Wontumi has admonished former President John Mahama for his recent comments about the Judiciary.

The Ashanti regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes Mr. Mahama is being driven around by a “destructive demon” and his attitude towards the judiciary shows he wants chaotic environment where there is no rule of law.

In an interview, Chairman Wontumi advised John Mahama not to address the judiciary with disdain.

“You have been possessed by a demon”, Chairman Wontumi said adding that Mr. Mahama “needs exorcism, there is a destructive demon in him”.

Former President John Dramani Mahama says it will take a new Chief Justice to lead the process to repair what he said was the “badly dented image” of Ghana’s judiciary for people to win the trust in the system.

For him, the deteriorated image of the judiciary easily sparks laughter from the citizenry when one decides to go to the court for justice.

Former President Mahama made the statement at the opening of the 2nd Annual Lawyers Conference of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday August 28, 2022.

“If people are not poking fun about politics and inducement being used to sway the hand of justice in the lower courts then it is poking fun and making statements about the 7:0 of the the unanimous FC. Verdicts which mostly involve cases of a political nature in our Supreme court, this is an unfortunate but serious development.”

But Chairman Wontumi responded that had it not been for the security implication, he would have called by Mr. Mahama to be cited for contempt.

“No one is poking fun about the court, people are rather poking fun at your abysmal performance as a former President. You were supervising broad day light stealing as President and that is what people are poking fun at. You speak like you are heavily drunk and that is what people are poking fun at”, Chairman Wontumi said as he defended the judiciary.
