Popular pollster, Ben Ephson has warned that the NPP could be thrown into disarray as a result of the brewing tension between the Alan and Bawumia factions.
In an interview with Captain Smart on Angel 102.9 FM this morning, Ben Ephson likened the situation of the NPP to the scenario of facing a snake on a tree if you climb, and a lion if you descend.
He explained that Bawumia has been able to garner considerable support for the NPP in the Northern regions, a situation which has served the NPP well in recent elections.
According to him, should the NPP choose Bawumia as flagbearer, it will be a huge boost for the party’s fortunes in the Northern and Upper Regions, even though this could also severely affect their fortunes in the Ashanti Region where Alan hails from.
He warned that the only way out of a factional war is for President Akufo-Addo to step down about one year to the end of his tenure citing health reasons.
This, according to him will lead to Bawumia taking over as President, so that he can appoint Alan as his Vice President.
Ben Ephson believes that this will appease supporters on both sides and ensure that they work together for victory in the general elections.
