The Asunafo South Constituency Member of Parliament, Eric Opoku has admonished President Akufo Addo and his government for plunging the country’s cocoa trees into debts worth $600 million.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Mr Opoku noted that the government has used Ghana’s cocoa to go for a $600 million loan just to plant cocoa trees to replace dead ones.
According to him, the country will be using seven years to repay the loan after the two year grace period given.
He slammed the president, however, quite hilariously saying, “So, that means even our cocoa trees owe $600 million”, thanks to President Akufo-Addo’s government.
