The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako who is also popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has issued a very strong warning to Member of Parliament for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda, to desist from deploying thugs to attack his political opponents in the ongoing new voters’ registration exercise.
Yesterday, it was reported that there were some agitations that nearly marred the registration exercise in the constituency. According to Wontumi, he has picked up credible intelligence that Honourable Collins Dauda is behind the deployment of thugs mainly to instill fear in his opponents.
“I am sending a warning to Collins Dauda. He is growing and must stop this childish act. He is behind the many troubles that happened at Asutifi South during yesterday’s registration exercise.” He said.
“I will storm the area and discipline Collins Dauda. All bad things are associated with him. If he thinks he has police protection as an MP, he should think twice. Some people would take the fight to his family members who don’t have state protection and he will feel sorry”. He added.
Meanwhile, Collins Dauda claims that he was rather attacked while he was on a routine monitoring exercise. “As MP, I went out to see how the registration is going on and at the Methodist Primary School. At the center, a gentleman pulled out something and without provocation, he sprayed into my eyes and it turned out to be pepper spray. It happened in the midst of police men deployed from the regional command at Goaso. They put me into their car and took me to the hospital where I received treatment at Acherensua Health Center,”
